In the wake of Hurricane Irene, Village residents had more on their mind than tap water usage. Many used a lot of water cleaning off flood-damaged items or buildings. The Village Board, at the suggestion of Village Clerk Janet Mayer, voted unanimously to charge the minimum water rent for every resident in the Village in order to save them excess costs from the additional water usage.
"It's only fair." she told the Board.
