2015 Budget, Tax Rate Mostly Steady for Fourth Straight Year

Last week the Village Board passed the 2015-2016 budget. For the fourth straight year we were able to keep spending and taxes mainly flat. We were able to be creative with our funding and provided an $8,000 grant match fund and increased funding for a new fire truck. We are planning on using our budget for several to be announced projects to benefit the people of the Village. The tax rate increased a hair, by 1%-- leaving our average tax hike at 0.24% per year, slashing the former rate of increase of 2.64% per year by over 90%. Over the last four years, compared to the former rate increases, we're proud to report that we've saved the average taxpayer $225 over the last four years.
