Artisan's Gallery Hosting Local Artist

All are invited to an opening reception of the watercolors and prints by local artist Sherry Holmes at the Artisan’s Gallery on 322 Main Street, Middleburgh on August 8th from 5pm to 7pm. Meet and greet the artist, and view other work produced locally to enhance your home and special gifts. Light refreshments will be served. Sherry’s work will be shown as the guest artist until September 30. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10am-5 pm; Saturday 10am-4pm. See you there!

Quilt Barn Trail Opening May 19th

The Schoharie County Quilt Barn Trail will be opening its exhibits this Sunday, May 19th. The Facebook group is here. Below is a notice from the site:

Middleburgh is hosting the visitors kiosk with two squares in the up and coming Timothy Murphy Park.

New Murals Installed

Even more going on in the Village. Quilt squares are up on the kiosk and the pavilion's getting taller.

Our next project is up and ready. With the NYS Main Street Grant money, two new murals grace Dan Ross's law office.

No tax dollars spent and another reason to stop in sunny downtown Middleburgh!

Mural Unveiled

The Village of Middleburgh unveiled its beautiful new mural on Main Street on Wednesday, July 4th. The ceremony was attended by about 50 people and is on the side of the Artisans' Gallery building, owned by Rich and Heather Villegi.

The mural depicts various scenes from Middleburgh's history. The Mural Committee was headed by Village Trustee Bill Morton. The project had help from various local artists, including Gladyl Gardner, Patty Turner, Bonnie Morton, and Patricia Brancoforte. There was help from various organizations, like Rotary, MEVAC, St. Mark's Church, Bush Lumber, the Arts and Crafts festival and others.

Residents were enthusiastic. Trustee Morton offered his "profound thanks," while former judge Jim Spencer stated that the mural was a "jewel in the crown of Middleburgh." Mayor Avitabile said that the project is yet another that has been completed over the last several months.
